Applying to BCUIC

Once you’ve worked on your portfolio and got it to a standard you’re happy with, you can start applying to higher education providers – including Birmingham City University International College.

BCUIC offers an Art foundation programme that leads onto five different degree areas at BCU: Architecture, Art and Design, Fashion, Jewellery, and Media. Check out the degrees associated with each area below.

Entry requirements

Africa

For an offer for BCUIC Art Foundation, you will need:

  • Qualifications equivalent to five GCSE passes A* – E, with at least three grades at C or above (including Maths and English).
  • A good portfolio
  • IELTS 5.5 (minimum 5.5) or equivalent

(Portfolio not required for the Media pathway)

India

For an offer for BCUIC Art Foundation, you will need:

  • Completion of All India or State Board SSC (X), Grade average 50%, including Maths and English
  • A good portfolio
  • IELTS 5.5 (minimum 5.5) or equivalent

(Portfolio not required for the Media pathway)

Latin America

For an offer for BCUIC Art Foundation, you will need:

  • Qualifications equivalent to five GCSE passes A* – E, with at least three grades at C or above (including Maths and English).
  • A good portfolio
  • IELTS 5.5 (minimum 5.5) or equivalent

(Portfolio not required for the Media pathway)

Applying is easy: once you have completed our online application form, the Admissions Team will process your application, assess your qualifications and your portfolio, and then send you an offer for our foundation programme.
