Applying to BCUIC
Once you’ve worked on your portfolio and got it to a standard you’re happy with, you can start applying to higher education providers – including Birmingham City University International College.
BCUIC offers an Art foundation programme that leads onto five different degree areas at BCU: Architecture, Art and Design, Fashion, Jewellery, and Media. Check out the degrees associated with each area below.

Entry requirements
For an offer for BCUIC Art Foundation, you will need:
- Qualifications equivalent to five GCSE passes A* – E, with at least three grades at C or above (including Maths and English).
- A good portfolio
- IELTS 5.5 (minimum 5.5) or equivalent
(Portfolio not required for the Media pathway)
For an offer for BCUIC Art Foundation, you will need:
- Completion of All India or State Board SSC (X), Grade average 50%, including Maths and English
- A good portfolio
- IELTS 5.5 (minimum 5.5) or equivalent
(Portfolio not required for the Media pathway)
For an offer for BCUIC Art Foundation, you will need:
- Qualifications equivalent to five GCSE passes A* – E, with at least three grades at C or above (including Maths and English).
- A good portfolio
- IELTS 5.5 (minimum 5.5) or equivalent
(Portfolio not required for the Media pathway)
